The next step is the creation of clouds in the sky. These are the four different sponges that I used. Primarily, I used a shaped dome sponge and one of the more coarse sponges to achieve the desired effect.

Clouds around corners!

The concept is very simple: Pull sponge through paint, pounce in an irregular design with more fluff on top and mostly flat on the bottom, fade and fluff the edges.

Pull and Pounce; Fade and Fluff; Repeat

Complete. Note that in order to make it appear that some clouds are further away I overlapped them with bigger and brighter clouds. These "farther away" clouds are smaller, more faded, and behind other clouds. This process helps to achieve aerial perspective.
